Description & Services
Description of service(s) The MacDonald Centre offers a unique training program with opportunities for persons with physical disabilities to learn independent living and life skills in preparation for them to eventually move to the community. Participants in the program occupy an apartment during their stay at the Centre. They work with a team of professionals namely, a Home Economist, a Social Worker, an Occupational Therapist and a Manager of Client Support Services.  
These professionals provide training in areas including, but not limited to, Home Care, Meal Preparation, Money Management, Social Skills, Recreation, Communication, Home Management, Access to Community Resources and the ability to direct Client Support Services. The program is set for a period of three years, but this may vary depending on the needs of the participants. We also offer nine permanent housing units to persons with physical disabilities requiring attendant care. Additional Services offered - Fully accessible gym overseen by a Fitness Coordinator.
