Description of service(s)Serving the residents of the Town of Oromocto and surrounding communities, the Oromocto Public Hospital provides primary care and secondary care inpatient and outpatient services including an emergency department operating from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., very active day surgery and breast cancer-screening centres, and a close observation unit. Fifteen family physicians, a radiologist, visiting surgeons, as well as nurses, professional and support staff work at this facility.  
 
Surgeons from the regional hospital regularly work at Oromocto Public Hospital in day surgery, leaving more complex inpatient surgery to be performed at the regional hospital in Fredericton. Between them, the two facilities offer twelve operating theatres.  
 
The hospital has a total of 45 beds.
