Description of service(s) The Small Craft Aquatic Centre (SCAC) season begins May 17. Located on the banks of the St. John River, Woodstock Rd., the facility offers a wide variety of programs to keep the whole family water-active. Activities at the SCAC include: week long outdoor adventure camps (canoeing & kayaking) for 11-16 year olds; 2-week sailing camps for 6- 17 year olds; adult instructional programs in canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and sailing; guided tours; and equipment rentals. A variety of membership passes are available.  
Fredericton Youth Sailing School (FYSS) 
Located at the Small Craft Aquatic Centre (SCAC), the goal of the sailing school is to teach safe and proper handling of a small sailboat while developing an enthusiasm and love of the sport. Courses are taught in accordance with Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) standards by CYA qualified instructors and are avilable for children as well as adults. 
Learn to Row 
Rowing is one of the finest aerobic exercises known. Rowing gets the entire body into action and does so with gentle rhythmic motion. In 2, two-hour evening sessions you will be taught the basics of sculling.  
Learn to Canoe  
A great way to join with old or new friends for lots of fun and fresh air. This program teaches the safe, skilled use of canoes in 2, two-hour sessions. 
Learn to Kayak 
Flatwater kayaking offers a great way to get practice for the white water or sea kayaking, get in shape, or just enjoy the beauty of the Saint John River. You will be taught the basics of paddling and boat control in 2, two-hour evening sessions.  
Adventure Camp 
The Small Craft Aquatic Center's Outdoor Adventures Day Camp provides young people with an opportunity to learn basic kayak and canoeing skills, while coming to appreciate and understand the beauty and richness of the Saint John River.

Dates Program is Offered Half-day as well as full-day camp programs will be offered. Adult instructional programs in canoeing, kayaking and rowing are also offered. For those who are just looking to escape and get out on 
the water the SCAC offers equipment rentals, membership passes and guided tours.  
This summer – the Fredericton Youth Sailing School will be offering courses for 6 to 17 year olds as well as introductory sailing lessons for adults.
