Description & Services
Description of service(s) Whether you’re interested in making music or learning about music, UNB Fredericton's Centre for Musical Arts (CMA) offers students and public of all ages the opportunity to enhance musical knowledge and experience through our Conservatory, Music Minor program, summer camps, and MusicUNB Concert Series.

The UNB Conservatory offers high quality instruction from experienced teachers and performers in strings, winds, and voice for students aged 5 and up. In addition to private music lessons, we offer performing ensembles at various levels for youth and adults, instruction in music theory, short courses, and workshops. All Conservatory students have the opportunity to perform in Conservatory concerts and other special events throughout the year.

The CMA offers a Music Minor, as well as a variety of credit and non-credit courses. Our music courses cover theory and history, as well as more specialized topics including Music, Computers & Technology; Music and Cinema; and Conducting; and online courses such as Music Through the Ages and Music of the World. The Music minor allows students from all Faculties to study music from the perspectives of theory, history, analysis, and performance. The program creates rich learning experiences for students interested in making music and for those primarily interested in learning about music.

Our summer camps have been offered for over 25 years, providing an exceptional level of music instruction to children and youths from across Canada. We offer a wide range of camps that are sure to satisfy any child's musical interests, from band camp to songwriters camp, and everything in between! Expand your skills and creativity in a fun and supportive environment, and make a few friends along the way.

MusicUNB is our annual concert series that runs from September to April in Memorial Hall. The series features chamber and cutting-edge classical music performances by top New Brunswick, regional, and Canadian artists alike. MusicUNB is curated by our Director and Musician in Residence.
