Description & Services | |
Description of service(s) | Arpeggio's mission is to empower members of the public to initiate conversations and offer support to individuals who may be struggling with a mental health problem. There are many misconceptions about mental health and mental illness, and many people who do have a desire to help aren't sure how to go about it. All too often, this lack of confidence and comfort with the topic of mental health means that an individual who is in distress doesn't get help. By demystifying mental health and the steps involved in offering support, we empower participants in our training sessions to start the conversation and connect a person to the resources they need. Talking about mental health doesn't have to be scary, and we are all capable of providing help that could drastically change the outcome for a person who's struggling. Arpeggio Health Services is proud to make a variety of mental health training opportunities available to members of the public throughout Eastern Canada: - Three different adaptations of the Mental Health Commission of Canada's evidence-based, internationally-recognized Mental Health First Aid Program, all delivered on two consecutive days -- Mental Health First Aid Basic Training (12 hours), Mental Health First Aid for Adults who Interact with Youth (14 hours) and Mental Health First Aid for Seniors (14 hours) - safeTALK Suicide Alertness training (3.5 hours), a half-day training developed and regulated by LivingWorks Education, Inc. - "The Mentally Healthy Workplace" (3 hours), an original seminar developed by Arpeggio Health Services - Keynotes and presentations for conferences and events All sessions are open to anyone, and no prior training or experience is necessary.
