Description & Services
Description of service(s) Aikido is a Japanese martial art created in the 1930s by Morihei Ueshiba, considered by many as one of Japan’s greatest martial artists. Ai means harmony, Ki Universal Energy and Do the Way. Therefore, Aikido is the Way of Harmonizing one's personal energy with the Energy of the Universe.

Students work in cooperation blending with the momentum of the attack, breaking their attackers' balance, and redirecting the attack back towards them. Aikido develops a strong center or Hara, excellent balance, powerful extension of Ki, and the ability to blend with aggressive behavior.

Please join us for a class. The drop-in fee is $10. Lavigne Sensei brings close to 40 years of martial arts experience to the mat. He is a 4th Dan Aikido Black Belt instructor who enjoys the flowing and powerful aspects of the art.
